"in twntytwnty, shortly after the start of the pandemic, june and i began collaborating on the book design for her three self-published chapbooks: child: poems of consciousness, south: poems of passing through, and heart: poems of love. nearly a year later, all three books were complete and june was ready to share them with the world. to celebrate her work, we organized a triple book launch event in collaboration with palabras bilingual bookstore. to commemorate the event and to provide a free poetic "goodie" for all attendees, june and i decided to design and publish this triptych brochure broadside through FIIK//BOOKS. the interior panels feature one poem from each of june's collections. in order to safely assemble the broadsides, we met outside at the southeast corner of a desert-bird-themed park and battled the late-afternoon breeze as we folded the pages and glued on the bookmark pockets. a spark of joy in disorienting times." -- RG
